NYX Hotel Cancun Resort ★★★★

Direkte Strandlage, wir hatten die Master Suite gebucht und damit einen herrlichen Blick auf das Meer. Ebenso war das Zimmer sehr geräumig und groß. Personal war sehr nett. Tägliche Yogastunden am Strand, traumhaft!!

Ein klein wenig in die Jahre gekommen, zwar alles schön soweit, aber kein Top-Standard mehr.

Wir waren nur 3 Nächte dort um eine gute Aussage treffen zu können!

Die Pools, das Frühstück, die Lage

Nach drei Wochen Reise durch Yucatan war dieses Hotel die letzte Station vor unserem Heimflug. Die Lage am Strand und neben dem Shoppingcenter La Isla war gut. Das Essen war in Ordnung. Das Zimmer war grosszügig und sauber. Gute Kommunikation.

Die Bilder entsprechen teilweise nicht der Wirklichkeit. Uns hat das Hotel nicht sehr angesprochen, weil es sehr gross ist und auf eine grosse Menge an Personen ausgerichtet ist. Es gibt wenige Liegestühle am Schatten. Die Sunset Suite ist nach hinten zur Strasse, daher etwas laut und unsere Aussicht war nicht sehr schön, da wir auf Höhe der Strasse unser Zimmer hatten.

in der „Suite“ (nicht renoviert) hatte es Meerblick. Ansonsten im Deluxe Zimmer welches ich ursprünglich gebucht hatte nur Lagunenblick (andere Seite zur Strasse) Maike an der Reception war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit beim einchecken. Frühstücksbuffet sehr gut. Hotel Lobby und Restaurant freundlich gestaltet. Auch sonst Personal freundlich. Strand wird jeden morgen früh von Sargassum und Müll gesäubert. Das Meer ist einfach fantastisch mit diesen Farben.

Der Late Check out war nicht möglich und ich fragte nach einer Möglichkeit wenigsten vorher noch zu duschen und mich umziehen. Leider hat das Hotel nur die Poolduschen und Toiletten dafür verfügbar. habe dann ein Spa gebucht in einem anderen Hotel. Zimmer alt und kalt eingerichtet. Höhere Kategorien sind anscheinend mittlerweile renoviert. Beachliegen relativ nahe nebeneinander gestuhlt.

Cancun is beautiful. The beach was great and the ocean had a nice sandbank, making swimming easy. The room was large and comfortable. The food variety was great, different themes every night.

All of the staff were friendly except for one porter who complained about the number of bags. There were a few chipped tiles in the foyer. Booking at the Italian restaurant was impossible.

Food was good. Facilities were in good shape. Staff were attentive and welcoming. Beach was nice. Classes offered were fun.

People wake up early to reserve beach chairs even though I was one of the first to actually be there for the beach at 8am. Cleaning staff took my personal carry on bag thinking it was a gift before I checked out on the last day and proceeded to open a gift inside. It was returned to me. Hanging around the pool in clothes, you're going to smell like a BBQ.

Staff are very nice. The facilities, location and price are commensurate with the price.

On arrival we were shown to what is probably the worst room in the hotel within the block which has not been refurbished - that would be the small terrace with the brown tilled floor on the ground floor as shown on the image. We refused the room and we were immediately taken back to reception (this obviously happens a lot) and we were then given a Master Suite on the 3rd floor in a different block - see other photo. I should mention that a Master Suite is what we had booked! The attempt by the NYX to offload its non-refurbished rooms is disingenuous and they should simply close the block and get on with the refurbishment. I see from other comments that this 'mix-up' in rooms happens often; there are no images of these very dated rooms on their website and there should be. Booking a hotel room should not be a lottery. This underhand behaviour by the front desk rather sullied our five day stay at the NYX. Not kind to staff! What a load of nonsense, we simply said we did not wish to wear the wristbands - we are not children; nevertheless, we kept them our persons at all times and we were certainly not unpleasant to the front desk - if anything they were generally disinterested in guests and acted as though they were doing us a favour by changing our room. We simply refute that the room we were first shown was a Master Suite, and your response is facile. We challenge you to post the images of these sub-standard rooms on your website so that guest can decide, and we note with interest that you make no comment on this core element in our review. The continued the lack of any images for your non-refurbished rooms says it all.

The room was nice but nothing out of the ordinary. The view of the bay and busy highway with a panorama of a row of hotels in all directions is the nature of the Zona Hotelera. Certainly not a paradise. The beach with a white sand is nice, as I expected; the sea with powerful waves is impressive, alas with knee-high depth useless for swimming. The breakfast is excellent, the buffet selection lavish.

If all you want is to eat and lie in the sun, this is the place to do it. While the cultural attractions the likes of Chichen-Itza and Coba are relatively nearby, and there are countless operators that will take you there, they are really too far and it's hardly worth the time in traffic necessary to get there, and then having to admire the Maya monuments following a herd of never-ending procession of tourists disembarking constantly arriving tour buses bringing yet more tourists.

The location and the property size, the restaurants and the beach

Our first room wasn’t good, they had a dehumidifier to tackle the smell of mould which wasn’t great. Once we moved rooms it was great. The food at the beach bar was hit and miss. The constant entertainment at the pool was a bit much for us

All staff was helpful and friendly! Especially our servers at the restaurants, the morning buffet was excellent as well as lunch. Great location!

La vue, la piscine était top !

Il y a une partie de l’hôtel rénové qui est très bien mais une partie pas rénové dont les chambres sont pas du tout celles des photos, et il ne le précise pas lors de la réservation.

Le service, la restauration

Très bel établissement, la piscine avec vue sur la mer, la plage privée, très bon petit déjeuner !

Le bruit à l’extérieur de la chambre, pas très bien isolée

Les chambres sont plutôt grandes et les lits confortables. Grande salle de bain également. L'hôtel est au final pas trop bruyant. Le personnel est plutôt sympa sauf à notre arrivée où l'accueil a été glacial. Le petit-déjeuner est excellent ! Les repas inclus sont également très bons. La plage n'est pas très grande mais là aussi malgré le monde on ne sent pas trop serré et cela reste assez calme. Par contre les courants devant et la venue d'un petit requin ont contrarié les baigneurs. La possibilité de laisser nos bagages et de profiter pleinement de la dernière journée est vraiment appréciable.

L'accueil à notre arrivée hyper glacial sinon le reste était très bien. Le prix était élevé mais c'était pour le réveillon donc forcément hors-norme avec un menu spécial qui était plutôt pas mal sauf les vins qui étaient vraiment mauvais. Les environs de l'hôtel par contre ne sont pas super.

Bel établissement bien situé et offrant un bon rapport qualité prix !

Notre chambre était au niveau piscine donc bruyante et peu intimité à cause des accès aux activités devant nos fenêtres

Que vous dire de plus que c est la 4ème année que l'on y retounre. coup de coeur.
